Crackdown Continues: 21 Illegal Migrants Deported from Assam

A total of 21 illegal migrants from Bangladesh, including women and children, were repatriated from Assam during a covert operation in the early hours of a Sunday, as reported by Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma. This pushback occurred in the Sribhumi district, highlighting the state’s ongoing efforts to manage illegal immigration. Sarma took to social media platform X to commend the Sribhumi police for their vigilance and prompt action, stating that the migrants were sent back to their homeland at precisely 12:30 AM. His message underlined the dedication of the police forces, contrasting their tireless night patrol with the rest of the population’s slumber, asserting that “Sleep can wait when duty calls.” This operation exemplifies the state’s commitment to maintaining border security and addressing illegal migration proactively.
