A special court has granted bail to two personal security officers (PSOs) of late singer Zubeen Garg in connection with a disproportionate assets case. The accused, Paresh Baishya and Nandeshwar Bora, were booked by the Chief Minister’s Special Vigilance Cell over allegations of possessing assets disproportionate to their known sources of income.
The Special Judge’s Court granted them bail after the defence argued that investigating officials had failed to follow the prescribed legal procedures during their arrest. According to court proceedings, procedural lapses in the arrest process played a key role in the bail decision.
Despite securing bail in the disproportionate assets case, Baishya and Bora will remain behind bars as they are also in judicial custody in connection with the case related to Zubeen Garg’s death.
As a result, the bail order does not lead to their immediate release, with the separate death case against them still pending.
