A suspected incident involving a young couple jumping into the Brahmaputra River from the New Saraighat Bridge has triggered concern in Guwahati. According to reports, the incident took place on Monday when a young man and woman allegedly jumped into the river from the bridge. Eyewitnesses claimed that the two were seen standing on the bridge before they reportedly leapt into the water.
