Counting date advanced for northeast from 4 to 2 June

The Election Commission of India (ECI) has released the schedules for the upcoming Lok sabha election, 2024. A notice issued by ECI has been updated about the changes of counting vote date in northeastern states.

The notice said, “There shall be no change in respect of schedule for Parliamentary constituencies of Arunachal Pradesh and Sikkim.”

According to the sources, the date was previously slated on 4 June but due to the expiry of the two assembly terms on June 2, the EC has decided to bring forward the counting date.
