On Sunday, the BJP attacked the Congress for their “Sankalp Satyagraha,” claiming that it was an attempt to defend Rahul Gandhi’s comments on the “entire backward community” of the nation by protesting the Constitution of the nation and the court’s decision against him.
In a statement to the media, BJP spokesperson Sudhanshu Trivedi also referred to the Congress agitation as a “insult” to Mahatma Gandhi, claiming that although the Father of the Nation had organised Satyagraha for social causes, the Congress was organising “so-called Satyagraha” for personal purposes.
Gandhi’s conviction in a defamation case in Gujarat and his “automatic” disqualification as a Lok Sabha MP as a result of the court’s decision, he claimed, made the Congress agitation a “brazen” exhibition of its hubris.
