Congress Completes First Phase of ‘National Talent Hunt’ in Assam

The first phase of the ‘Talent Hunt’ selection process for national spokespersons and media panellists of the All-India Congress Committee (AICC) took place on Thursday in Kamrup (Metro) and six other districts of Assam, featuring participation from over 300 candidates across six zones. The event in Guwahati, held at the Manavendra Sharma Complex, was organized by the Assam Pradesh Congress Committee (APCC) under the media and communication department. Key attendees included former MP Ripun Bora, Ram Prasad Sharma, former MLA Mohan Basumatary, along with a senior editor and a Gauhati High Court advocate as jury members. In Jorhat, MLA Bhaskarjyoti Barua observed the proceedings, supported by a senior journalist and another advocate as jury members. The program also saw attendance from spokesperson Sambit Sharma in the two hill districts, Rupak Das and Junaid Hussain in Bongaigaon, and over fifty candidates from the Barak Valley in Silchar, attended by spokesperson Sanjeev Roy. In Tezpur, spokesperson Mohsin Khan and Kalyan Saikia were present, along with a senior journalist as a jury member. The final round of the selection process is scheduled for Guwahati on December 21 and 22.
