Colin Jackson urges Indian athletes to focus on the Paris Olympics

Tata Steel Kolkata 25K 2023 Event Ambassador Colin Jackson urged Indian athletes not to be intimidated by the hype and environment at the 2024 Paris Olympics, but to focus on their preparations. Colin, a 1988 Seoul Olympics silver medalist, referred to India as a “sleeping giant” in world athletics during the eighth edition of Tata Steel Kolkata 25K in Kolkata.

Jackson, who won two World Championship titles in 1993 and 1999, believes India’s Tokyo Olympics hero Neeraj Chopra will give his best to defend his Javelin Gold at the Paris Olympics. Chopra is focused, committed, and has a clear perspective, which excites Jackson.

Jackson is proud to be associated with the TSK 25K and hopes the race will be a great success. Participating in a World Championship gives Jackson longevity and a positive legacy. He stated “Running has the power to bring the community together and that the beauty of the sport is its inclusivity and unity”.
