A passenger from Madhya Pradesh aboard the Bande Bharat Express train was shocked to find a cockroach in his bread. The food was served by the IRCTC catering staff. The incident took place when the passenger was traveling from Bhopal to Gwalior.
Addressing the complaint immediately, IRCTC requested the passenger’s PNR number and said “We are deeply sorry for your unpleasant experience. Rest assured that appropriate measures will be taken to avoid such incidents in future.”
This is one of the numerous incidents that have raised concerns about the quality and convenience of food on the railways. Indian Railways and IRCTC conduct a thorough review of their food services to ensure that such lapses do not recur.
