CM Himanta Biswa Sarma lays foundation stones for major projects in Demow

Chief Minister Dr. Himanta Biswa Sarma virtually laid the foundation stones for the Demow Co-District Commissioner Office, the Bhekuri Chapori road-cum-embankment, the approach road NH-37 to Sivasagar Medical College under SOPD-G, the improvement and upgrading of the Sepon-Sunpura road under Assam Mala 3.0, and the embankment from Sesa Tiniali to Laibeel. Speaking during a public event at the Bakchu Koch Gaon Borbil Playground, which is part of the Khelua Gaon Panchayat in the Demow constituency, Dr. Sarma outlined the numerous programs and projects that the State Government has implemented.

He denounced the Congress and said that its programs, which he called “pancha amrit,” included lungi, dhoti, thread (suta), blankets, and mosquito nets. State Education Minister Dr. Ranoj Pegu, Guardian Minister Kushal Dowari, former Jorhat MP and Thowra MLA Topon Gogoi, Sivasagar District Commissioner Mridul Yadav, Co-District Commissioner Lukumoni Borah, and a number of other dignitaries attended the event. The Chief Minister later told the media that it was a national obligation to file a complaint under SR.

He said that illegal immigrants are widely known to be in Assam, and if no complaints were filed under the SR, it would imply there were no foreigners in the state. That is why BJP workers filed complaints against those they suspected. He added that this responsibility was not BJP’s alone, but other parties failed to act. Emphasizing action over words, CM Sarma said BJP workers filed over five lakh complaints to oppose illegal foreigners, showing that Assamese people have not surrendered and that the party stands by its resolve.
