CDSL hosts ‘Reimagine’ Symposium, highlights data-driven future of securities markets

Central Depository Services (India) Limited (CDSL) hosted the third edition of its annual symposium, “Reimagine: Securities Market through Data Synergy,” bringing together policymakers, regulators, market infrastructure institutions and technology leaders to discuss the growing role of data in shaping India’s securities markets. Central Depository Services (India) Limited said the event also marked the launch of the inaugural Reimagine Ideathon, rewarding five student teams with prizes worth ₹12 lakh.

Tuhin Kanta Pandey, Chairman of Securities and Exchange Board of India, who attended as Chief Guest, emphasised that “data is the new plumbing of capital markets,” highlighting the importance of governance, security and quality of market data. The symposium also featured an AI-powered panelist providing real-time insights, reflecting the increasing integration of artificial intelligence in financial market decision-making. A key highlight included the launch of the CDSL Investor Protection Fund’s Amar Chitra Katha comic series in 12 languages to promote investor awareness. The Ideathon winner, Project Sahayak from Goa Institute of Management, secured the top ₹5-lakh prize among over 1,000 participating entries nationwide.

Initiatives focusing on investor education and data-driven infrastructure could further deepen retail participation in emerging regional markets such as Guwahati. With rising demat account penetration in the Northeast, enhanced investor awareness programmes and digital financial infrastructure are expected to support broader capital market participation from the region.
