The Central Bureau of Investigation has filed a new FIR in relation to alleged irregularities in the selection of assistant teachers for elementary schools in West Bengal in 2020. According to them, the FIR was filed against unnamed individuals in response to a Calcutta High Court ruling for the federal investigation agency to look into the claims. The issue concerns alleged anomalies in the selection process for 16,500 primary teachers, which the West Bengal Board of Primary Education (WBBPE) began on November 23, 2020, for candidates who had passed the Teacher Eligibility Test (TET) and received training.
