Dense winter fog has severely impacted road safety in Assam, leading to a tragic accident at Yogi Ghopa–Boalimari in Bongaigaon district, where a vehicle plunged into the Champabati river around midnight. Four individuals were in the car: driver Akidul Islam and passenger Jubbar Ali survived, while Bokkar Ali was recovered deceased, and Azahar Ali Mondal remains missing. The group was returning to Barpeta after attending a local fair when their Dhubri-bound vehicle lost control on a foggy stretch, rolling down a slope into the river.
