The Byatikram International Writers Meet 2024 concluded successfully in Guwahati from November 22 to 25, bringing together celebrated writers from around the world. Organized by Byatikram MASDO, the event fostered intellectual exchange and celebrated global literary achievements. The event featured an impressive roster of international writers, including Tendo Taijin from Japan, Alexandra Nicod from Switzerland, MiodragJaksic from Serbia, and Jorge Contreras Herrera from Mexico, among others. Renowned Indian authors such as Dr. Reshma Ramesh and Ashok Chakraborty also participated.
The inaugural session, held at Aurus Mall in Dispur, was graced by notable dignitaries, including Dr. Rita Chowdhury and Shankar LallGoenka, who presented special awards to international participants. In his address, Goenka highlighted literature’s universal power, saying, “Literature has no language; it is a universal means of exchanging emotions.”
The program featured local cultural performances, book launches, and poetry readings. Notable moments included the launch of seven books by Prof. Jiban Nath and Bijay Shankar Sur at Cotton University. The event culminated with a farewell dinner, leaving attendees enriched by the shared cultural and literary exchange. The meet showcased Northeast India’s rich heritage and its growing literary influence on the global stage.
