The upcoming “Byatikram Education Conclave,” set to take place in Dhaka on June 10, will be dedicated to the memory of the late Mou Roychowdhury, a celebrated writer and cultural activist renowned for her significant contributions to the arts and education.
Her poignant poetry captivated countless readers, and she served as the chief advisor for magazines such as ‘Sustha,’ ‘Safar,’ and ‘Khela.’ Beyond her literary achievements, Mou Roychowdhury was the founding Managing Director of Techno India Group and the Chancellor of Sister Nivedita University in Kolkata. She was also cherished for her performances of Rabindra Sangeet in both India and Bangladesh. She passed away on May 7 at the age of 53.
“Mou Roychowdhury was a remarkable and kind-hearted individual. Her untimely passing at just 53 is a great loss. She made significant contributions to the educational landscape of both India and Bangladesh. In her loving memory, we are dedicating the ‘Byatikram Education Conclave’ to her,” stated Dr. Saumen Bharatiya, President of Byatikram MASDO. The conclave is supported by the Assistant High Commissioner of Bangladesh in Guwahati and Friends of Bangladesh.
