The Byatikram Group has congratulated Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP) leader and newly elected Prime Minister Tarique Rahman following the party’s decisive victory in the recent parliamentary elections in Bangladesh, describing the mandate as a reflection of the country’s democratic strength.
On behalf of the organisation, Dr. Saumen Bharatiya and Mr. Amaresh Roy also felicitated Bangladesh’s Assistant High Commissioner in Guwahati, Mr. Zikrul Hasan Fahad, in a gesture symbolising goodwill and regional friendship. The felicitation ceremony highlighted solidarity with the people of Bangladesh and recognition of their democratic mandate.
Speaking on the occasion, Dr. Bharatiya said the emphatic electoral mandate demonstrated the “strength and maturity of democratic institutions” in Bangladesh. He noted that India and Bangladesh, as neighbouring countries sharing historical and cultural ties, must continue to deepen cooperation in trade, healthcare, education, and cultural exchange, adding that a stable and progressive Bangladesh contributes significantly to regional peace and prosperity.
Mr. Amaresh Roy stressed the importance of sustained people-to-people engagement and diplomatic collaboration between the two nations. The Byatikram Group leadership reiterated its commitment to encouraging dialogue, cross-border initiatives, and collaborative efforts aimed at strengthening mutual understanding and regional development.
