Bumble, the women-first dating app, has released its predictions for the dating scene in 2025, based on insights from over 40,000 Gen Z and millennial members globally, including more than 2,000 singles from India. As dating continues to evolve, Bumble’s research highlights a shift toward authenticity, transparency, and emotional clarity in relationships.
Pracheta Mazumdar, Bumble’s Senior Marketing Manager APAC, notes, “2025 is set to be a transitional year for dating, with singles, especially women, becoming more assertive about their desires and boundaries.” The trends reflect a growing desire for “micro-mance” (small but meaningful romantic gestures) and a rise in the authenticity of dating content. Over 70% of women in India are embracing honesty, no longer compromising on their needs.
Among Bumble’s 2025 predictions, micro-mance is gaining traction, with 92% of Indian singles appreciating gestures like sending memes and sharing inside jokes. The “DWM” trend (Date With Me) also celebrates the rise of real, unfiltered dating content, inspiring healthier relationship goals and reducing loneliness. From niche interests like culinary classes to evolving conversations around masculinity, dating dynamics are shifting. In Kolkata, the growing trend of “future-proofing” dating, where stability and emotional reliability are prioritized, aligns with local singles’ increasing desire for deeper, more meaningful connections.
