To mark the Birth Anniversary of Sarder Vallabhbhai Patel `Rashtriya Ekta Diwas’(National Unity Day), pledge taking ceremony was organised by the Border Security Force Meghalaya Frontier, Sector Headquarters Jowai, Mawpat and Dobasipara as well as other location of BSF battalions in Meghalaya.
At Umpling BSF campus the oath was administered by Shri Hardeep Singh, Inspector General. He while addressing the troops stated that Rashtriya Ekta Diwas will “provide an opportunity to re-affirm the inherent strength and resilience of our nation to withstand the actual and potential threats to the unity, integrity and security of our country”.
A series of other events which include March past will be organized by the Border Security Force at different BSF location in of the State to mark the `National Unity Day’.
