Border Security Force Guwahati Frontier concluded a series long “Fit India Freedom Run” by conducting 10 Km ‘Fit India Freedom Run’ at Patgaon, Guwahati and also conducted cleanness drive on the occasion of birth anniversary of father of the nation, Mahatma Gandhi. On 2nd Oct’ 2020, Frontier HQ Border Security Force Patgaon Guwahati concluded the series of “Fit India Freedom Run” by conducting 10 Km run under overall supervision of Shri Rajesh Kumar, IPS, Inspector General BSF Guwahati Frontier. The Run was flagged off by Shri Rajesh Kumar, IPS Inspector General Border Security Force, Guwahati Frontier.
150 participants including Officers, Subordinate officers, Jawans of BSF, Composite Hospital and 1st Bn NDRF Patgaon, Guwahati by observing COVID-19 protocols, took part in the run.
During the programme Shri Rajesh Kumar, IPS Inspector General Border Security Force, Guwahati Frontier said that during the present scenario and lifestyle, we have forgotten our health for money but health is our real wealth. To keep ourselves fit, it is sole responsibility of individual concerned. He added that “This occasion provides us an opportunity to re-affirm the inherent strength and resilience of our nation to withstand the actual and potential threats to the unity, integrity and security of our country.
After concluded Fit India Freedom Run, the cleanliness drive was launched at Frontier HQ Patgaon, Guwahati & its surrounding areas of Azara Railway Station to mark the occasion of birth anniversary of father of the nation, Mahatma Gandhi. Cleanliness drive was led by Sh Rajesh Kumar, IPS, Inspector General BSF Guwahati Ftr, in which 150 BSF & NDRF Officers / Jawans are participating. Sh Rajesh Kumar, IPS, Inspector General also said that we the sentinels of the border are not only confined to our assigned duties, but are also donning the garb of ‘‘Sentinels of the Environment’’. He further said that we as responsible citizens of India should work with sole aim to contribute towards saving and preserving our environment, by involving the masses and assured to continue with these endeavours. The aim of the campaign is to create awareness among civil population and various other stake holders pertaining to ensure basic cleanliness of day to day life starting from our own dwelling, besides various measures for ensuring cleanliness of our environment. This endeavour is being appreciated by the local people as every nook and corner of the surrounding areas are being cleaned of the dirt and litter.
Similar programmes were also organized in BSF Sector HQrs of Dhubri, Cooch Behar and Falakata, all Battalion HQrs and BOP’s under command of Guwahati Frontier.
