BSF APPREHENDED ONE BANGLADESHI CATTLE SMUGGLER AND RESCUED 47 CATTLES

                In operations, troops of Border Security Force under Guwahati Frontier apprehended one Bangladeshi cattle smuggler and rescued 47 cattle heads from the bordering areas of District Coochbehar (West Bengal), Dhubri & South Salmara (Assam) on intervening night of 14/15 Oct’ 2020.

            Acting on tip off, on 14 Oct’ 2020, troops of BSF BOP Diara of 06 Bn BSF under Guwahati Frontier carried out a special operation in general area of village Okhrabari, PS-Mankachar, Distt- South Salmara (Assam) and apprehended one Bangladeshi cattle smuggler along with cattle heads, while these were being smuggled from India to Bangladesh. Apprehended cattle smuggler identified as Md Panchu Mia, (47 Yrs), S/O Late Md Razak, R/o Vill Bolmari, PO- Solmari, PS-Rowmari, Distt- Kurigram (Bangladesh).

            Apprehended Bangladeshi cattle smuggler along with cattle heads have been handed over to PS-Mankachar for further legal action.

            Besides above, vigilant Seema Praharis of BSF have also rescued 47 Nos cattle headsin various other operations from bordering areas of Distt Coochbehar (West Bengal), Dhubri & South Salmara (Assam) while the same were being smuggled from India to Bangladesh.

             BSF troops are always alert towards the issues of trans-border crimes and illegal infiltration and are making all endeavours to contain such trans-border crimes.
