BSA expands Gold Star 650 range with two new editions ahead of festive season

BSA Motorcycles has expanded its Gold Star 650 range in India with two new editions, Brooklands Black Legacy Edition and Birmingham Blue, featuring exclusive finishes and premium detailing ahead of the festive season.

The Brooklands Black Legacy Edition draws inspiration from the historic Brooklands circuit, where rider Wal Handley’s record-breaking performance in 1937 earned the Gold Star badge. It features deep black paintwork, gold pinstriping, chrome-finished fenders, a quilted seat and chrome accents. The Birmingham Blue Edition pays tribute to the brand’s birthplace with deep blue paintwork, a patinated silver side-panel badge and a bespoke engine finish.

Both motorcycles are powered by a 652cc liquid-cooled, single-cylinder engine producing 45hp and 55Nm of torque. They also feature Brembo brakes, dual-channel ABS and wire-spoke wheels. Classic Legends co-founder Anupam Thareja said the editions celebrate the motorcycle’s British heritage while offering distinct styling for modern riders.

The Birmingham Blue is priced at Rs 3,55,950, while the Brooklands Black Legacy Edition costs Rs 3,64,950, ex-showroom New Delhi. The Gold Star 650 has been named MCN’s ‘Best Retro Bike’.

In Kolkata, the new editions could attract buyers seeking premium retro motorcycles, particularly during the festive shopping season. Their heritage-inspired styling and distinctive colour options may help BSA strengthen its presence in the city’s competitive mid-capacity motorcycle segment.

BSA’s Ownership Assurance Programme includes a four-year/50,000-km standard warranty, extended warranty options of up to six years, roadside assistance for up to eight years and annual maintenance contracts for up to five years, supported by more than 450 sales and service touchpoints nationwide.
