As the Assembly elections in Assam draw closer, the state unit of the BJP has intensified its organisational activities and campaign programmes across the length and breadth of the State.
In a press statement issued by theparty, BJP spokesperson Kalyan Gogoi stated that following yesterday’s formal announcement of the commencement of the Assembly election campaign through the “Wall Writing” programme by Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma and State BJP President Dilip Saikia, extensive organisational activities are being carried out at the district and mandal levels across Assam. From January 5 to 11, district executive committee meetings are being organised in all 39 organisational districts of the State under the slogan “Once Again, a BJP-Led Alliance Government.” Through these meetings, the respective district committees will critically analyse their future course of action and finalise comprehensive strategies to complete preparations for the upcoming elections.
Under the dynamic leadership of Chief Minister Sarma, the State has witnessed wide-ranging public welfare and employment-oriented initiatives, including transparent recruitment processes, industrial growth encompassing semiconductor units and fertilizer plants, eviction of illegal encroachments, protection of Satras, deportation of illegal Bangladeshi infiltrators, decisive measures to uphold the dignity and safety of women, establishment of universities and medical colleges in districts, expansion of technical education institutions, prevention of mob violence, and the continuous implementation of people-centric development projects, the statement said. While these initiatives are expected to garner overwhelming public support, the BJP is neither complacent nor self-satisfied. Instead, the party continues to place utmost emphasis on organisational discipline and grassroots outreach, carrying forward its programmes with renewed vigour, it added.
Notably, through the district executive committee meetings commencing today, senior state-level party functionaries are being deputed across districts to reaffirm the collective resolve of reaching out to the people with the pledge of forming “Once Again, a BJP-Led Alliance Government.”
