BitChem Bags Top Honour for Sustainable Material Innovation at Build India Infra Awards 2026

BitChem Asphalt Technologies Limited, based in Guwahati, has received the “Sustainable Material Innovation of the Year” award at the Build India Infra Awards 2026 for its innovative pollution-free, zero-emission road binder called Green Bitumen. This award honors BitChem’s contributions to eco-friendly and energy-efficient road construction, notably demonstrated in a 51 km project by the Road Construction Department of Bihar. BitChem, supported by the Technology Development Board of India, is led by Chairman Mr. SK Jain, who emphasized the commitment to sustainable, scalable road construction solutions. Green Bitumen technology replaces traditional hot-mix asphalt, reducing fuel consumption and eliminating greenhouse gas emissions while ensuring durable road construction. The award was presented by Union Minister Shri Nitin Gadkari, underscoring the importance of such innovations in line with the Indian government’s Vision for a progressive Bharat. Additionally, the company credited its R&D partner Dr. UC Sahoo from IIT Bhubaneswar for his contribution to the development of this technology. With increasing adoption among government agencies, BitChem’s Green Bitumen is positioned to promote sustainable construction practices across India.
