Birla Fertility & IVF Howrah marks first anniversary, expands fertility care in eastern India

Birla Fertility & IVF, one of India’s leading fertility networks, has completed its first year of operations in Howrah, reinforcing its commitment to accessible and expert-led fertility care. The milestone was celebrated with families who began their parenthood journeys at the centre, sharing their experiences of resilience and success. The Howrah centre has emerged as a crucial fertility hub, serving not just the local population but also couples from Hooghly, Midnapore, and other parts of West Bengal. By providing specialised consultations, fertility assessments, and structured treatment plans, it has reduced the need for long-distance travel, making high-quality fertility care more accessible.

Highlighting its commitment to excellence, Birla Fertility & IVF was recently awarded the ET Health world National Fertility Award 2025 for ‘Best IVF Chain of the Year (East)’ for the second consecutive year. With 51 centres across 19 states and 38 cities, the network continues to expand, including plans to open a second Kolkata centre to further strengthen its presence in the region.

The success of the Howrah centre has positively impacted the local healthcare ecosystem, with a growing number of couples seeking fertility care without traveling to distant metropolitan centres. Howrah’s thriving medical infrastructure, supported by connectivity to major markets and healthcare hubs, has positioned it as a key player in fertility treatments, drawing patients from across the state.

Abhishek Aggarwal, CEO of Birla Fertility & IVF, emphasised the organisation’s goal of expanding fertility care in the East. “With a strong focus on patient-first treatment, we are committed to making fertility care more accessible through our expanding network, including the upcoming Kolkata centre,” he said.

Dr. Sonali Bandyopadhyay, Consultant at the Howrah centre, reiterated the centre’s dedication to affordability and transparency in fertility care. “We ensure that patients receive clear guidance and structured treatment options, helping them make informed decisions,” she stated.

A compelling success story from the centre highlights a couple’s 10-year battle with unexplained infertility. Despite normal diagnostic results, the woman’s age-related egg quality decline was identified as a key factor. Through Intracytoplasmic Sperm Injection (ICSI) and laser-assisted hatching, the Howrah team achieved a successful pregnancy, exemplifying expert-led interventions in fertility treatment. With its expanding footprint and proven clinical success, Birla Fertility & IVF is set to redefine fertility care in eastern India, offering new hope to couples facing reproductive challenges.
