BharatPe launches operations in Guwahati

India’s leading Fintech company for merchants, BharatPe rolled out its financial services in Guwahati. This is the first of the many cities that the company plans to venture into, in the North East, as part of the second phase of expansion across India. The company’s office in Guwahati will be at Zoo Narengi Road, Guwahati.

The company has set a target to onboard over 50,000 merchants across categories including Grocery, Food and Restaurants, Colleges and Educational Institutions, Pharmacies and Amusement Parks. The company will also be launching merchant loans for its merchant partners in Guwahati in coming months. It has set a target of building a merchant base of 5-lac merchants in Eastern India in the next one year. It plans to onboard 1-lac outlets in North East region of the country (including Siliguri) by the end of 2021. BharatPe has a network of over 6 million merchants across more than 75 cities. 

This announcement is in line with the company’s aggressive expansion strategy with the focus to become the preferred financial services partner for small merchants in the country. BharatPe aspires to become a Digital Bank for merchants that can serve as a one-stop destination for all merchant needs and lending business will play a key role in this journey.
