Beekeeping and mushroom cultivation training course is started by Rangia SSB

To produce income for the people, the 24th Battalion of Sashastra Seema Bal (SSB), Rangia, began a 15-day beekeeping and mushroom cultivation training course on Friday. The Citizen Welfare Programme (Northeast Region) planned the event, which was opened by HK Gupta, Commandant of the 24th Battalion, SSB Rangia. In his inaugural speech, Gupta noted that this training was more than just skill development; it was also a critical step toward self-reliance. Beekeeping and mushroom growing courses give a solid foundation for the villages’ self-employment, livelihood, and future prospects.

He stated that beekeeping can not only be a big source of honey production, but it can also help to increase agricultural production significantly. Gupta continued, “Bees enhance crop output through pollination, which can quadruple farmers’ revenue. Mushroom production is a low-cost, space-efficient, and quickly successful industry. Today, as the market’s desire for organic and healthful foods grows, mushroom growing provides a huge opportunity for rural youngsters.”

He stated, “Rural farmers living in border areas face difficult conditions. Employment prospects are scarce, and youth require competent direction. In such cases, vocational training provides economic support and a way of empowerment to rural communities. This program will not only teach participants technical skills, but also how to run their enterprises successfully, including marketing methods and new agricultural approaches.” Khadi Gramodyog Kumarikata and NBSE (Carrier Info) Tamulpur will provide the 15-day training. The beekeeping course has thirty students, while the mushroom producing course has twenty-two learners.
