Bandhan Flexi Cap Fund marks 21 years with diversified approach to changing market cycles

Bandhan Flexi Cap Fund has completed 21 years, marking more than two decades of an investment approach centred on diversification, flexibility and the ability to navigate changing market cycles.

The fund follows a balanced strategy across three investment frameworks — Momentum, Quality and Value. While momentum focuses on companies benefiting from strong earnings cycles and structural growth, the quality approach targets businesses with robust fundamentals, healthy returns on capital, strong management and reasonable valuations. The value strategy seeks companies where pessimistic market expectations could create opportunities for future value unlocking.

The fund also follows a flexible market-cap allocation strategy, allowing exposure to large-, mid- and small-cap companies to change depending on relative attractiveness, valuations and market conditions. The approach has evolved from a sharper growth and quality tilt towards a more balanced style exposure.

In Kolkata, the strategy comes amid continued investor interest in diversified equity products that can participate across sectors and market-cap segments without requiring investors to predict which style will lead the next market phase.

The fund describes its philosophy as “strategic mediocrity”, focusing on relatively consistent and moderate outperformance through disciplined stock selection rather than concentrated, high-risk bets. It is positioned as a core equity allocation, offering exposure to multiple potential return drivers while seeking to reduce dependence on any single investment style or market segment.
