Bajaj General Insurance launches MHCP EDGE+ with health cover up to Rs 5 crore

Bajaj General Insurance has launched ‘My Health Care Plan Edge+’ (MHCP EDGE+), a new health indemnity insurance plan offering flexible and customised coverage options with sum insured ranging from Rs 5 lakh to Rs 5 crore. The company said the plan has been designed to address rising healthcare costs and reduce out-of-pocket expenses through a modular structure that allows customers to choose add-ons and riders based on their healthcare requirements and affordability. MHCP EDGE+ offers unlimited reinstatement of the sum insured within a policy year, ensuring continued protection in case of multiple claims. The base plan covers hospitalisation expenses including room rent, ICU charges, surgeries, modern treatment methods, AYUSH therapies, pre and post hospitalisation costs, day care procedures, domiciliary hospitalisation, organ donor expenses, and emergency ambulance services.

The insurer said the product also includes optional riders such as Consumables Plus, Super Cumulative Bonus, Major Illness and Accident Multiplier, and global coverage options for emergency and planned treatment abroad. Among the key features are the Age Shield rider, which locks the premium at the entry age until a claim is made, and Smart Tenure, allowing customers to pool their total sum insured across the policy tenure and use it flexibly from the first year itself.

Speaking on the launch, Dr. Tapan Singhel said the product aims to make health insurance more flexible, transparent, and aligned with evolving customer healthcare needs. Available in both individual and family floater options, the plan offers lifetime renewability, policy tenures of up to five years, and coverage for individuals from three months of age.
