Bajaj General Insurance Limited has launched “My Family Complete”, a health insurance policy that allows pet dogs and cats to be covered as insured family members under a single health protection plan. The company said the policy, described as India’s first integrated family health plan to include pets, is aimed at replacing separate insurance covers for human family members and pets with a unified framework.
The plan offers sum insured options ranging from Rs 5 lakh to Rs 5 crore, with policy tenures of up to five years. It covers adults, dependent children and pet dogs and cats, subject to eligibility conditions. The policy includes benefits such as in-patient hospitalisation, pre- and post-hospitalisation expenses, ambulance services, domiciliary care, modern treatment methods and convalescence benefits. It also offers pet-specific benefits, including support for finding a lost pet, emergency pet accommodation and third-party liability cover.
Customers can also choose optional covers such as air ambulance services, global cover, major illness and accident benefits, double sum insured benefits and the “Bundle of Joy” benefit for the birth of a child or pet litter.
