Bajaj Allianz General Insurance has introduced ‘ApnarJonyo’, a state-specific health insurance product aimed at tapping into the unique healthcare demands of West Bengal. Announced on June 19, 2025, the product exemplifies a growing industry trend toward regional customisation to boost insurance penetration in underserved and demographically diverse markets.
The policy, available in both individual and floater variants, offers sum insured options ranging from ₹5 lakh to ₹20 lakh. It includes coverage for inpatient and daycare procedures, pre- and post-hospitalisation expenses, organ donor costs, and advanced treatments like robotic surgery and stem cell therapy. Optional benefits include unlimited sum insured reinstatement, a Super Cumulative Bonus up to 200%, festive hospitalisation bonuses, wellness-linked premium discounts, and accidental death cover.
The city’s rising middle-income population and expanding private healthcare infrastructure make it a promising market for ‘ApnarJonyo’. Local agents predict the plan’s affordability and digital access will drive adoption among both salaried and informal sector workers.
Dr. Tapan Singhel, MD & CEO, said the launch reinforces the company’s vision to make health security “accessible, personalised, and economically viable for every Indian.”
