Bacardi India launches ‘Legacy’, its first-ever made-in-India whisky innovation, entering the Indian-made whisky segment. India is one of the fastest growing markets for Bacardi globally, and the organization is rapidly investing behind its strategic and ambitious vision for the market. The new premium Indian whisky – Legacy – which truly embodies the culture and passion of India, has been introduced across shelves in Assam.
Legacy, Bacardi’s premium Indian whisky, is crafted with Indian grains and a blend of Indian and Scottish malts. It has a rich, peaty flavor, fruity notes, and toasted oak undertones. The Indian whisky market is expected to grow at a CAGR of 6.8% between 2020 and 2023, with annual sales exceeding 250m 9LC by 2026. Bacardi’s innovation in India will strengthen its brown spirits portfolio and tap into the large consumer base seeking premium Indian whisky options.
Assam is a top market for premium whisky, with demand reaching over 400,000 cases annually.
