Axis Trustee expands GIFT City footprint with new office to boost cross-border financial services

Axis Trustee Services Limited (ATSL), a wholly owned subsidiary of Axis Bank, has expanded its presence in Gujarat International Finance Tec-City (GIFT City) with the inauguration of a new office aimed at strengthening its role in India’s growing international financial services ecosystem.

The new office was inaugurated in the presence of PradeepRamakrishnan, Executive Director of the International Financial Services Centres Authority (IFSCA), BipinSaraf, Chairman of Axis Trustee Services Limited, and Rahul Choudhary, Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of ATSL.

The company said the expansion will enhance its ability to support financial institutions, issuers, fund managers and investors operating in GIFT City through specialised trustee, agency and fiduciary services for domestic as well as cross-border transactions. The office will cater to services across debt capital markets, facility agency, security trusteeship, Alternative Investment Funds (AIFs), escrow agency services and emerging cross-border financial structures within the International Financial Services Centre (IFSC).

Following the inauguration, ATSL hosted a roundtable conclave where industry leaders discussed opportunities in the evolving IFSC ecosystem, growth in cross-border fund platforms and the importance of governance-driven fiduciary frameworks. Chairman BipinSaraf said GIFT City is emerging as an important gateway for global capital, while Managing Director Rahul Choudhary noted that the expansion would strengthen the company’s ability to deliver technology-enabled and regulation-driven fiduciary solutions.

In Kolkata, the expansion reflects the increasing integration of eastern India’s financial ecosystem with global capital markets. As Kolkata-based corporates, NBFCs, investment managers and institutional investors explore international fundraising and cross-border investment opportunities, stronger trustee and fiduciary capabilities at GIFT City are expected to facilitate access to global financial structures while supporting compliance with evolving regulatory requirements.
