Axis Mutual Fund, a rapidly growing mutual fund house in India, conducted an investor survey to gauge the level of risk comprehension among its Indian investors. The survey received responses from over 1700 Axis MF investors from across the country. The objective of the survey was to receive insights on investors’ attitude and understanding of risks in mutual fund investing.
The survey revealed that investors are increasingly aware of the importance of investing their money to appreciate it, leading to Mutual Funds becoming a preferred investment avenue. 59% of investors still consider past performance as a key benchmark for investing in mutual funds, despite being aware of long-term investing and compounding power.
Market noise often influences redemption, with 22.2% staying invested for 12-24 months and 48.7% repurchasing within two years or less, according to AMFI data. B. Gopkumar, MD & CEO, Axis AMC said, “At Axis Mutual Fund, we value our role as responsible investment partners’ to not only help investors navigate their investment journey but also help them understand various aspects of their mutual fund investments, so they are well-equipped to make thought through decisions and fulfil their financial goals.”
