Axis Bank honours women entrepreneurs at Kolkata event to mark International Women’s Day

Axis Bank celebrated International Women’s Day by organising a special event in Kolkata to recognise the achievements of women entrepreneurs and changemakers from across West Bengal. The programme, held at Hotel Hindustan International (HHI), highlighted the bank’s commitment to promoting women empowerment, inclusivity and customer engagement. The event was graced by Bollywood actress Ekavali Khanna as the Chief Guest and attended by senior Axis Bank leaders including Sattar Ali, Regional Branch Banking Head – East 1; Piyali Reddy, Group Head – Corporate Communications; Amit Parekh, Circle Head – West Bengal 1; Sougata Chatterjee, Circle Head – West Bengal 2; and Jabir Hussain Rahim, Circle Head – West Bengal 3.

Speaking on the occasion, Sattar Ali said women entrepreneurs and leaders play a vital role in driving economic growth and social progress, and the bank remains committed to supporting their ambitions through inclusive banking services. Piyali Reddy added that recognising women’s achievements strengthens the bank’s culture of inclusivity and builds stronger relationships with customers and communities.

Such as the Women’s Banking Program and ARISE Women’s Savings Account are gaining strong traction in Kolkata and West Bengal. With 425 branches and 1,169 ATMs across the state, the bank continues to expand its engagement with women customers through customised financial solutions, health and wellness benefits, and targeted outreach programmes. The Women’s Day initiative also forms part of the bank’s broader regional campaign, which included more than 150 branch-level engagements connecting with over 700 women customers across the North and East regions.
