Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma on January 9 assured that there are no restrictions on the sale or slaughter of pork in Guwahati, apart from maintaining hygiene and sanitary standards. The clarification comes amid concerns over a recent directive by the Guwahati Municipal Corporation (GMC).
