The novel coronavirus has affected 2,76,583 people and claimed the lives of 7,745 in India so far. Airtel ups stake in Bangladesh firm

Bharti Airtel on Tuesday said its subsidiary has acquired an additional 6.3 per cent stake in Bangladesh operator Robi Axiata from NTT Docomo for an undisclosed sum. Airtel did not disclose the value of the deal. It said the acquisition of the ordinary shares was done at mutually-agreed valuation. “The said valuation is non-material and is not disclosed herein due to reasons of confidentiality.” The transaction has been cleared by the Bangladesh telecom regulator. State Bank of India cuts lending rates

The reduction by the country’s largest lender follows the Reserve Bank of India (RBI) bringing down the policy repo rate by 40 basis points last month. Consequently, one year MCLR, against which home loans are priced, will come down to 7 per cent from 7.25 per cent earlier. SBI said EMIs on home loans linked to MCLR will get cheaper by around Rs 421 for a 30 year loan of Rs 25 lakh.
