Manipur : Experiences Moderate Intensity Earthquake.

An earthquake of moderate intensity hit Manipur on Sunday, according to the Earth Science Department of Manipur University.The earthquake of 5.1 magnitude hit Manipur at 4.16 pm, it said, adding that the epicentre of the quake is located 9 km from Ngopa area of neighbouring state of Mizoram. The tremor was also felt in the state capital of Meghalaya, the official said. There was no report of any casualty or damage to property in the any of the states. The Meghalaya government has extended the night curfew from 9 pm to 5 am till June 30, officials said on Sunday. The night curfew was to be in force till Monday. The state government has also extended the ban on inter-state movement of people till June 30, they said.
