New Delhi: The private sector will now be allowed to carry out space activities like building of rockets, satellites and providing launch services, ISRO chief K Sivan said today. He said the private sector can also be part of the inter-planetary missions of the Indian Space Research Organisation. A 52-year-old woman in south Bengal’s Howrah was killed Tuesday night after she was pushed off the stairs when she tried to stop two men from molesting her college-going daughter, police said. Police have arrested the prime accused Kush Bera. He is the husband of a local Trinamool Congress panchayat leader and was known to the girl and her family. The girl used to call him ‘uncle’. Andhra Pradesh chief minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy on Wednesday launched yet another dole scheme under which financial assistance of Rs 15,000 will be given to women of Kapu community in the age group of 45-60. The Kapu Nestham scheme is one of the pre-poll promises made by the chief minister. In a period of five years, they will be getting a total of Rs 75,000, an official statement said. Deadline to link PAN and Aadhaar cards has been extended. Now you can link your PAN card and Aadhaar card till March 31, 2021. The old deadline to link PAN and Aadhaar was June 30, 2020. Now, by March 31, 2021 all Permanent Account Numbers (PAN) in India will have to be linked with respective Aadhaar numbers. New Delhi: Delhi reported 3,788 new coronavirus cases over the past 24 hours, government data showed Wednesday evening, taking the total number of cases in the national capital to 70,390. Over the same 24 hours 64 deaths were linked to the infectious virus, taking the total number of deaths to 2,365. This translates to a mortality rate of 3.35 per cent, which is marginally higher than the national rate of 3.17 per cent.
