Based on a tip-off, the Matigara police, on Monday night, launched operations at Siliguri City Center area and arrested three people along with 1200 grams of brown sugar.The arrested have been identified as Umar Farooq, Mohammad Akhtarul Haque, and Ratan Roy. Out of the three, Umar Farooq and Mohammad Akhtarul Haque are residents of Kaliachak, and Ratan Roy is a resident of Siliguri’s Baghajatin colony. The market value of the recovered brown sugar has been estimated to be around 1 crore rupees.
