Lakhimpur eviction drive to continue soon

The eviction drive started in Assam from May, 2021 last year on the orders of Chief Minister Himanta Biwa Sharma. On Tuesday, a 500-hectare land eviction drive was launched in Lakhimpur district, reportedly affecting more than 100 families. Lakhimpur Superintendent of Police Vedanta Madhav Rajkhwa said 600 personnel of the state police and CRPF have been deployed for the exercise and a mock drill was conducted by the force on Sunday.
