To boost the tourism sector in the Northeast, Assam Helicopter services will start in some major cities of the state. According to sources, Pawan Hans Limited will start services between Dibrugarh-Jorhat-Tezpur-Guwahati-Tezpur-Jorhat-Dibrugarh three days a week. The helicopter service provider has entered into an agreement with the Assam Tourism Development Corporation to control this sector. Assam has set up temporary jails for the arrests in Child marriage. The arrest one will be kept in Goalpara foreigner’s detention centre which has been converted into temporary jail centre. According to the sources, two temporary jails have been set up for the accused against Child marriage; one is in Goalpara and another in Cachar district, Inspector General of Assam Police, Prashanta Kumar Bhuyan said. A man named Abdul Basir Ahmed complained a file against a family for killing his niece to death. Three members of the same family were involved in killing the minors. According to the deceased, his niece was 16-year-old niece and 14-year-old nephew were killed on the intervening night of February, 1. Police have now arrested the accused three people. The family members have killed the minor due to long dispute family issues. A video of a young kid was captured on social media being tortured badly with tide hands by three men from Krishnapur, Hailakandi, Assam. Matter of alert for Assam as its rate of teenage pregnancy from child marriage is 16.8%. Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma expresses concern through his tweet on Monday. According to the sources, the total 620,867 total pregnancies reported in the year 2022, 104,264 were teenage mothers which ratio is 16.8%. Barpeta tops the list with 28.7%, followed by Dhubri and South Salmara (27.9%) and Goalpara (24.1%). Tinsukia registered the lowest rate of teenage pregnancy with 8.4%. On February 6, first Y20 meeting under G20 held in Guwahati, 2023. In Assam's Dibrugarh, a minor girl was found unconscious with her hands and feet tied. She was found raped by some men. The girl is 14 years old. According to sources, two people have been arrested so far on the charge of gang rape of a minor. The accused of rape are Bhaijaan Ali and Safar Ali. The girl went missing since February 3, Police. The National Family Health Survey (NFHS) reports on child marriage that an average of 32 per cent of registered marriages in Assam are within the prohibited age. Also according to the 2019-21 survey, 11.7 percent of women aged 15-19 were already mothers or pregnant at the time of the survey. The Assam chief minister said they have identified more than 8,000 people who married minor girls. A video of a Rhino was circulated on social media where it was seen running after the people. The video was captured from Golaghat, Assam. Also the one-horned Rhino was seen chasing the people around and 2 officials was injured while trying to bring him in control.
