According to earlier updates, a cyclonic circulation over east Assam and its neighborhood is present in the areas of Northeast region. Due its presence the region’s states are suffering continuous heavy rain and hailstorm. The mostly affected areas of the region are Assam, Meghalaya and Arunachal Pradesh; ‘Yellow Warning’ is alerted for the states. Due to hailstorm and severe rain these regions are already affected earlier. Now to some new update, nonstop rain, hailstorm, thunderstorm is continuously damaging the region. On Tuesday, a top officer of Assam was arrested on the charge of extortion in Sivasagar district. The accused officer is identified as Shrinkhal Chaliha, a top officer bearer officer bearer of Lachit Sena. According to the sources, the officer got arrested because he demanded money from a business man in the name of donation for organizing a cultural event and then spat in the face of the trader when he refused.
