Recently, Congress leader Rahul Gandhi visited Manipur due to the ongoing hit between the communities in the state. Reacting to his visit, Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma said that politicians should not try to take advantage when a state is going through a disturbed situation. “No political party or person should try to take advantage of a violence-hit state,” CM added. Assam Education Minister talks on NE performance in civil services exam

Assam Education Minister Ranoj Pegu expresses concern on Assam’s poor performance OF candidates in Indian Civil examination, UPSC. According to the reports, Assam candidates in Indian Civil Services stand at 1.62% as per official data. "We are seriously lagging behind. It’s a matter of serious concern. HEIs of NE must prepare young aspirants for Civil Services and may collaborate with Private Institutions. Sharing a few important slides," Pegu said. In the year, 2022 only nine were selected for 861 vacant seats. A total of 796 vacancies were available in 2020 with only nine eligible candidates being selected.
