On Wednesday, during the ongoing Assam Assembly the opposition Congress party staged walkout from the Assembly over implementation of Assam Accord. According to the sources, Congress leader Sibamoni Bora raised question about the implementation of Assam Accord during the question hour but the answer didn’t satisfy the opposition party due to which the Congress party staged walkout from the session. AFSPA to be completely withdrawn by October, confirms Assam CM

Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma as earlier promised to remove Armed Force Special Power Act (AFSPA) from the state, Assam completely. During a meeting, the Chief Minister has confirmed its complete removal. According to the sources, the confirmation came after Assam CM met Union Home Minister at Delhi and presented the state’s peaceful areas in which AFSPA is imposed.
