SC to start hearing of Citizenship Act for Assam

On Wednesday, the Supreme Court announced about the hearing of Section 6A of the Citizenship Act relating to illegal immigrants in Assam. According to the announcement, the Supreme Court will commence its hearing on October 17. Assam Govt. to financially support Assam youths

On Wednesday, Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma announced about launching new scheme for Assam youths for financial support, from the government. According to the sources, the scheme is about to launch under ‘Mukhya Mantri Atmanirbhar Asom’. With it, Assam youths will be getting Rs. 2 lakhs for their self-employment which is to be started from September 23-24, 2023. Ahead of Puja, people consuming prasad fell ill

A report came into sources; over 100 people have been suffering from food poisoning after consuming Prasad ahead of puja in Lakhimpur district, Assam. An official report stated, "They consumed prasad at a namghar (a place of worship) after a programme, following which they complained of loose motion, vomiting and stomach ache.” To reports, total number of 110 people fell ill and is being treated at the local civil hospital at Dhakuakhana, while one has been referred to Lakhimpur Medical College and Hospital for advanced care.
