A NGO, Akshar Foundation situated at Pamoli area of Guwahati, Assam runs a schools for its local children in the area mostly for the under privileged one. The NGO is based on restoring and balancing the natural environment through plastic recycling. Co-Founder of the NGO, Parmita Sarma said that their school do not charge fees in currency notes instead they asks the students to collect single use plastic from their area and bring it to the school daily as school fees. Kaziranga National Park and Tiger Reserve in Assam were closed since May due to continuous rain and warning alert was activated as Brahmaputra river water got raised. Now as the situation got lighter, an official statement said that, Kaziranga National Park and Tiger Reserve under the jurisdiction of Eastern Assam Wildlife Division will be reopened for tourists from October 15, 2023.
