Amritpal begins indefinite hunger strike in Assam jail

Amritpal Singh, pro-khalistan leader was arrested by India police and is kept in Dibrugarh jail. The Khalistan leader has recently launched hunger strike in the jail along with nine more fellow detainees. According to the sources, the Khalistan leader’s lawyer was restricted to access their jail premises. Socio-economic survey on Muslim community, Assam

Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma during a meeting with the senior officials of the state has decided to conduct socio-economic survey of five Muslim indigenous communities in the state, Assam. According to the sources, the decision was taken by the state government to take measures for the socio-political, educational upliftment of the minority communities in the state.
