Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma during a meeting with the senior officials of the state has decided to conduct socio-economic survey of five Muslim indigenous communities in the state, Assam. According to the sources, the decision was taken by the state government to take measures for the socio-political, educational upliftment of the minority communities in the state. Assam CM taking to the social media handle ‘X’ said, "In a meeting held at Janata Bhawan, HCM Dr @himantabiswa directed the officials concerned to carry out a socio-economic assessment of Assam's Indigenous Muslim communities (Goria, Moria, Deshi, Syed & Jolha).”

Crackdown on child marriage, special operation began in Assam; over 800 accused were being arrested from parts of the districts on Tuesday. Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma launched Launching ten catamaran vessels, three tug boats and a search-and-rescue vessel in Guwahati. During the occasion the CM announced about modernizing state’s inland waterways. According to the sources, the state government is planning to invest Rs. 700 crore to modernize the Inland waterways. Due to the ongoing raw between India and Canada since past few days there have been tensed environment between the countries. Earlier, Canada PM alleged India for the killing of Sikh separatist Nijjar since then both the countries are on word of conflicts.   To which Indian Foreign Minister Subrahmanyam Jaishankar replied, saying that there were a climate of violence and an atmosphere of intimidation against Indian diplomats in Canada, where the presence of Sikh separatist groups has frustrated New Delhi. In between the ongoing between Assam & Meghalaya, recently new tension has been erupted in Lapangap village, situated on Meghalaya’s West Jaintia Hills district from Assam’s West Karbi Anglong district. According to the sources, the village people from both the side has engaged into conflict with wielding traditional weapons like bows, arrows, and catapults.
