The Assam Government hold Cabinet meeting on November 16 and during the meeting the decision was taken about merging  class 10th and 12th boards in Assam. Currently, it is the Board of Secondary Education Assam (SEBA) for Class 10 and the Assam Higher Secondary Education Council (AHSEC) for Class 12, after the merger the board will be called the Assam State School Education Board (ASSEB). According to the sources, the decision to merge the boards and the council into one single entity has been made to develop, regulate and supervise the standards and quality of school education in Assam.

Improvised Explosive Device (IED) blast was triggered on targeting Assam Rifles vehicle in Manipur's Tengnoupal district on Thursday where Kuki and Meitei ethnic communities broke massive violence in the region. According to the sources, a patrol of the 20 Assam Rifles Battalion, comprising 10 personnel was out on a routine area domination patrol early Thursday morning. The personnel were in a mine protected vehicle when the Rifles were attacked at the spot. However, the attack was done by some unidentified insurgents; the investigation is underway for the attack. Assam Governor Gulab Chand Kataria is accused for campaign in Rajasthan for BJP. The Assam units of the Trinamool Congress (TMC) and the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) have demanded his resignation from the post. Festival ‘Ali-Ai Ligang’ of Mishing Community is in the corner for its arrival in Assam.  The community in Chachal, Guwahati has been protesting for long time in demand of Holiday for the day.   The community stated that holidays granted for Bhatri Dutiya and Chhath Puja are celebrated by smaller communities in the state, the Mishing community demands equal recognition for Ali Ai Ligang. Further, the community has also asked for inclusion of the festival in school books for preservation of their cultural heritage for future.
