Assam’s Goalpara district recently hosted the 2nd edition of the 100 Drums Wangala festival in Chotipara with thousands of spectators. According to the sources, the event was organized by the Garo Cultural Forum and Garo Students’ Union, showcased a rich tapestry of traditional dances and rhythmic drum performances.  Meghalaya Education Minister, Rakkam A Sangma as the chief guest and Desal Bimik R Marak, President of Garo Cultural Forum attended the event. The ministers messaged about the importance of preserving and cherishing Garo culture.

A workshop was held under the Indo-Pacific Parks and Biodiversity Partnership for three days from where France and South Africa visited the state, Assam. The partnership is a trilateral collaboration between the AFD (French Development Agency), ONFI (French Forest Service International) and the Assam forest department. An Indian student from Assam was brutally beaten by iron rod by Khalistan supporters after the boy voiced opposition to Khalistani extremist activities. The attack took place in Sydney's western suburb of Merrylands, targeted the student while he was on his way to work.
