Assam students who appeared for Higher Secondary Examination, 2023 and scored above 60% and 75% respectively have been rewarded scooters by Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma at the Veterinary College field in Khanapara, Guwahati on Thursday. According to the sources, the initiative took place under Pragyan Bharati Scheme, with 35,770 students being recipients of scooters under the scheme in 2023. The initiative is taken to empower youths through education. Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma has announced about development of 264 schools in the state through the PM Shri School scheme which will contribute to advancing the New Education Policy (NEP). The Assam government received nine Guinness World Records certificates for a mega plantation drive in September-October. As per sources, Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma received the certificates from Guinness World Records Adjudicator Swapnil Dangarikar for the state’s ‘Amrit Brikshya Andolan’. Sarma said, “Amrit Brikshya Andolan has been successful only because of Jan Bhagidari.
