Assam’s Ahom maidams to be Indian’s entry for UNESCO Heritage

Union Minister for Culture and Tourism G Kishan Reddy told the Parliament about Assam’s Charaideo Moidams of the Ahom dynasty is India’s nomination for inclusion in the UNESCO World Heritage List for the year 2023-24. According to the sources, Reddy was questioned if the Government has finalized India’s nomination for consideration as World Heritage site for 2023-24. Tribal language to be included in textbooks of Assam

Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma announced about inclusion of tribal language textbooks for Assam Primary School under New Education Policy (NEP) which is to get started by next year. According to the sources, The New Education Policy (NEP) is to get started by next year, 2024, April 1 in Government schools of Assam. The Assam CM further added that, the system will be implemented in all schools of Assam by the year 2026. Additionally, three year roadmap will be prepared by the government to successfully implement the system within the targeted month.

On Thursday, Guwahati, Assam has witnessed earthquake measures 3.5 on the Richter scale, the tremors were felt in the region at 5:42 am.The National Center for Seismology (NCS) reported that the epicenter was located at latitude of 26.63 and a longitude of 92.08, with the NCS indicating that the tremors occurred at a depth of 5 km.
