During a Cabinet meeting, Presided by Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma and its Government has taken a decision to conduct a comprehensive socio-economic assessment of the indigenous Assamese Muslims residing in the state, Assam. According to the sources, the decision is taken by the government to understanding and addressing the specific needs and challenges faced by this community in the state. Further, the Directorate of Minority Affairs and Char Areas will spearhead the socio-economic assessment.

Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma announced about inclusion of tribal language textbooks for Assam Primary School under New Education Policy (NEP) which is to get started by next year. According to the sources, The New Education Policy (NEP) is to get started by next year, 2024, April 1 in Government schools of Assam. The Assam CM further added that, the system will be implemented in all schools of Assam by the year 2026. Additionally, three year roadmap will be prepared by the government to successfully implement the system within the targeted month.

National Crime Records Bureau (NCRB) has released a data of Assam which showed that the total number of cognizable crimes in Assam fell by 48.26 per cent to nearly 69, 000 cases in 2022 compared to the previous year. On Thursday, Guwahati, Assam has witnessed earthquake measures 3.5 on the Richter scale, the tremors were felt in the region at 5:42 am.The National Center for Seismology (NCS) reported that the epicenter was located at latitude of 26.63 and a longitude of 92.08, with the NCS indicating that the tremors occurred at a depth of 5 km.
