Recently two drug peddlers were arrested along with heroin at Nongpoh in the Ri Bhoi district of Meghalaya in morning. Actually Sumit Naha (21) and Rahul Ghosh (25), both of Dibrugarh Assam, were apprehended by a night super bus, police said. In fact during a search, 2 soap boxes containing heroin weighing 21.05 grams along with 8 vials and 1 syringe were found in their possession, police further said. A case has been registered at Nongpoh police station and an investigation is on to trace backwards and forward linkages. Minor girl gets sexually assaulted, accused awarded 30 years jail

Assam man in Jorhat was sentenced to imprisonment for 30 years under the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act. According to the reports, the man is identified as Biki Gupta, the accused man sexually assaulted a minor girl in 2019.
